Bank PO Exams 2018: All you need to know

In this article I am going to discuss about Bank PO Exams. The following are points that we will discuss in this article.

1. What is Bank PO ? 

The Bank PO also called as ‘ Probationary Officer ‘ works as Assistant Manager in a Bank.  Every year lacs of students contest for PO exams. That means the competition is very tough but it is not that hard if you prepare well. Typically a Bank PO undergoes 2 years of training and then get to work in a bank as a Assistant Manager. In the Training Period the aspirants can be asked to perform different kinds of activities like clerk or a assistant type of jobs. In the training period they will acquire practical knowledge like finance, accounting, billings etc.

2. Bank PO Exams 2018

Government  as well as Private Banks conducts the Bank PO Exams in order to admit new officers in the bank. There are various Bank PO Exams but the two most important ones are SBI PO Exams and IBPS Exams. The Exams conducted by various banks has different sets of papers and selection criteria. The selection of Bank PO is done in three phases:-

1. Preliminary Exams      2. Main Exams         3. Group Exercise and Interviews.

3. Eligibility And Syllabus 

The Most important point that you should keep in mind is that different Banks has different eligibility criteria for their respective exams. The candidate should be between 20-30 years old. The Candidate appearing for Exams should have a graduation degree from recognized university.                                                                                                                                        Now let us discuss about the syllabus of Bank PO Exams. As I have said in the above section that the selection is basically considered in 3 phases.

Preliminary Exams:- It basically consists of sections like Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning and verbal ability.

Mains Paper:- The Mains paper consists of five sections namely General Awareness, Computer Knowledge, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning and verbal ability.                                                                                                                                                                             For different exams different patterns should be considered. Basically the syllabus for Bank PO exams is designed to test the general awareness and aptitude of the candidates.

4. How to start the Preparation ?

Nowadays clearing a Bank PO Exams has become very hard because there is a huge competition. There are some tips that I feel would help you in preparing for Bank PO Exams.

Tip 1- Know the pattern and syllabus study them well and then start your preparation.

Tip 2- Refer all the previous years papers which will help you to get the idea about the level of questions that are asked in exams.

Tip 3- Refer Books that you find useful and convenient as some books will be more elaborate and some will be in brief.

Tip 4- Maintain proper schedule giving yourself 1-2 hours everyday for the preparation.

Tip 5- Read Newspapers for general awareness and improve your vocabulary.

Tip 6- Try To solve previous years papers on weekends which will boost your confidence.
