1. PM Modi China Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in New Delhi after a two-day informal summit meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Wuhan. The Prime Minister was received at the airport by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi wrapped up his two-day visit to China with both the countries underlining the importance of maintaining peace and tranquillity in all areas of their border region in the larger interest of the overall development of bilateral relations.

2. India’s 1st National Police Museum To Come Up In Delhi
i. The Union Government has announced to establish India’s first national police museum in Lutyens’ Delhi. 
ii. The museum is expected to be inaugurated on 21st October 2018 on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day.
3. Telecom Commission of India approves Net Neutrality

The Telecom Commission on July 11, 2018, approved the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) net neutrality recommendations that bar service providers from discriminating against internet content and services by blocking, throttling or granting them higher speed access.

The decision that aims to ensure open and free Internet in the country was taken at a meeting of the Commission, the highest decision-making body in the Department of Telecommunication in New Delhi. In its recommendations, the regulatory body asserted that there should be no intrusion of equal internet access to everyone, based on just the content

4. Nepal out from ICAO’s blacklist

International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) has removed Nepal from its Significant Safety Concern (SSC) list. In 2013, the ICAO had enlisted Nepal in SSC category as Nepal’s compliance to the ICAO’s standard at that time stood only at 55 percent out of the standard 60 percent.

5. World’s Most Powerful Supercomputer unveiled
US scientists have unveiled the world’s most powerful and smart scientific supercomputer that can complete over 200,000 trillion calculations per second. The supercomputer will provide unprecedented computing power for research in energy, advanced materials, and artificial intelligence

6. India Ranked 4th for Web Attacks Globally

According to a report titled “Summer 2018 State of the Internet/ Security: Web Attack report” compiled by Cloud delivery network provider Akamai Technologies, India is ranked fourth in the list of top 10 target countries for Web Application Attacks.

7.TCS becomes the first Company to close over Rs. 7 Trillion Market Cap
India’s IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) became first listed the company in India to close day’s trade with the market capitalization (m cap) of over Rs. 7 lakh crore (over $103 billion)

8. India makes a good comeback in Top Universty Rankings

Three Indian universities feature in the top 200 universities of the QS World University rankings 2019. This includes-Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and IIT Delhi
